I am a research associate in the Systems Modeling and Simulation group of Prof. Kathrin Flaßkamp at Saarland University, where I work on combining physics-based and data-driven methods for modeling, simulation, and control of dynamical systems, with applications to wind energy systems.
My research addresses the reconstruction of unmeasured quantities, such as derivatives, states, parameters, and faults, from noisy measurements. This is an ill-posed inverse problem, in which small measurement errors can induce large errors in the estimated quantities. I develop numerical differentiators based on orthogonal polynomials, with approximation error bounds and constructive parametrization rules, and I combine such physics-based methods with data-driven ones. The resulting algorithms are designed to be real-time capable on embedded hardware and are validated experimentally.

I develop and maintain AlgDiff, an open-source toolbox for the design, analysis, and discretization of algebraic differentiators, and the SMS pendulum systems, an open hardware platform for teaching and research.
I received my Dr.-Ing. in 2022 for a thesis on numerical differentiation using orthogonal polynomials and its applications to fault detection and parameter identification, carried out at the Laboratoire des Signaux et Systèmes (L2S) of Université Paris-Saclay in a joint doctoral program (cotutelle) with the Chair of Systems Theory and Control Engineering at Saarland University. Before that, I obtained an M.Sc. in Engineering Cybernetics from the University of Stuttgart and a B.Sc. in Mechatronics from Saarland University.
